James Monroe has a Great 2011 Racing Season

The 2011 season saw James Monroe, the 2010 NHRA Div. 3 Top Dragster Champion and Sportsman Driver of the Year, tweak his Top Dragster engine. The addition of a Hitman Tunnel Ram, to his already stout Pro-Filer Spread Port combination, resulted in another successful season. Monroe was able to get a handle on the new set-up by mid- season and qualified #1 for the JEG’S All Star event with a normally aspirated E.T. of 6.75 at over 195 MPH. Several days of racing later Monroe found himself in the winner’s circle with that same 6.75 dial-in on the car. Showing how consistent a Pro- Filer combination is.

2011 also seen James debut a bracket dragster engine combination featuring the SNIPER "X" BBC 24* CNC PORTED CYLINDER HEADS and SNIPER BBC SINGLE PLANE INTAKE MANIFOLD. Monroe stated, "We were looking for dependable out-of–the-box power for our bracket dragster and these Pro-Filer parts were the easy choice." Probably the most impressive thing about these CNC heads and single plane manifold was the weekend it was running 180-181 MPH in Super Comp trim at the NHRA Bowling Green divisional race. The field was littered with spread port engines, and we were in the top 5% or so on speed. This is a big deal in this index class."

Monroe continued to state, "Pro-Filer Performance Products have been an integral part of the Monroe Racing program for the last several years. Whether it is fielding a championship level NHRA Top Dragster or an event winning bracket dragster; I have relied on the full complement of Pro-Filer cylinder heads and intake manifolds."

Monroe isn’t alone in his comments. His engine builder and racing partner, Adam Layman, remarked, "I am fortunate enough to work for one of the leading engine builders in the country. In my daily duties I have been asked to build virtually every kind of engine imaginable with every make of cylinder heads and manifolds.
